23 Oct 2024
Systems Integration and Infrastructure

A presentation regarding the feasibility study on the infrastructure required for hydrogen production and export from the Eastern Cape in South Africa to strategic export locations such as the UK, EU and Japan. This study will be the first to compare the levelised cost of hydrogen from multiple carriers and the port infrastructure required to deliver cost-competitive, safe, green hydrogen from Eastern Cape to meet domestic demand in South Africa and global export locations.
The consortium is led by Nelson Mandela University, supported by Ikigai, as well as National Gas, DNV, University of Kent, University College London, and the Thames Estuary Growth Board.
The proposed presentation can give context to the project, the potential benefits and the progress to date.
