Will Europe's CO2 storage sites become a roadblock for emitters?

24 Oct 2024
Carbon Capture, Utilisation, Storage & Blue Hydrogen

Europe faces a critical challenge in achieving its carbon capture and storage (CCS) goals due to a significant mismatch between planned capture projects and CO2 storage availability. The presentation examines the current state of CCS in Europe and the factors that have led to this predicament. We will also discuss an analysis of the number of storage agreements signed to date, supply-demand gap and the pathways forward to relieve the storage availability situation.
