Partnership between industry and research for accelerating the development of high temperature electrolysers in Poland
Solid oxide electrolysers stay at the forefront of energy transition technologies. Their unique features which offer a great advantage over the other types, especially low-temperature electrolysers include inherently high efficiency, possibility for thermal integration with industrial processes, and their ability to be directly fed with steam.
This presentation provides insight into Polish landscape of hydrogen technologies with detailed description of selected initiatives which have been led by ORLEN and their partners across research and academia. Selected systems based on solid oxide electrolysers fully built in Poland are presented and discussed as a part of National Hydrogen Strategy which, among other goals, expects multi-MW modular hydrogen production systems. These SOEs are fabricated using advanced manufacturing methods such as high pressure injection molding and 3D printing.
