Energy Integration and Optimisation Between Capture Plants and Host Facilities
The integration of large-scale Carbon capture plants with existing industrial and power facilities presents significant challenges due to the high energy demand associated with solvent regeneration and supporting utilities. This presentation explores an integrated approach to optimise the energy exchange between amine-based Carbon capture plants and their host facilities.
The study evaluates different energy integration strategies for supplying the required steam and utilities while recovering and utilising available waste heat. Process integration and optimisation techniques are used to identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption and improve the overall efficiency of the integrated system.
The presentation will highlight key integration challenges, technology options and practical considerations for the deployment of large-scale carbon capture systems, with a focus on the interaction between capture plants and their host facilities.
