Next-generation catalysts can significantly reduce critical raw-material use whilst, improving fuel-cell and electrolyser performance and reducing risk. However, a better catalyst in the lab is not enough: customers ultimately need reproducible quality, secure precious-metal supply, competitive large-volume economics and a credible pathway to industrial production.
