APJeT Plasma Technologies Launches their Revolutionary Waterproofing Process for Gas Diffusion Layers and Porous Transport Layers
APJeT's Next Generation Plasma Machinery Waterproofs Gas Diffusion Layers and Porous Transport Layers

Morrisville, NC, USA – September 1st, 2026 – APJeT Plasma Technologies officially launched their groundbreaking atmospheric pressure plasma technology for waterproofing gas diffusion layers and porous transport layers today.

Their next-generation waterproofing technology uses room-temperature plasma machinery, as a replacement for PTFE sintering, and applies a proprietary chemical formulation that creates a conformal, waterproof coating with superior performance characteristics at a fraction of the traditional operating cost.

Key Financials:

· Cost savings of up to $7.50 per square meter, 79% reduction in cost over conventional processing

· Capital payback is less than 4 months

· 7X production capacity of traditional equipment

Key Performance BenefitsGreenFIX™-GDL Chemical Coating

· Up to 99% less fluorine than traditional PTFE coatings with no loss in waterproof performance

· Waterproof chemistry encapsulates individual fibers, maintaining high air permeability

· Thin, conformal coating has minimal impact on substrate flexibility

· High conductivity of the base material is maintained after waterproofing

· Chemistry is solvent-free

· Suitable for paper and fabric used as gas diffusion layers or porous transport layers

Key Machinery BenefitsAPCure™ Plasma Machinery for Chemical-Curing

· Plasma cures GreenFIX™ chemistry at room temperature and pressure – NO HEAT

· Machinery is compact, roll-to-roll, and can operate continuously

· Line speeds of 10mpm are standard

· Handles roll widths of 1-2 meters

· Custom system designs available

APJeT Plasma Technologies has revolutionized the PTFE coating process with their Next-Generation GreenFIX™-GDL waterproof coating and APCure™ plasma chemical-curing technology. GreenFIX™ chemistries are exclusively compatible with APCure™ machinery and form an ultra-thin, conformal coating around the fibers, leaving pores open. The final waterproof coating repels as well as traditional PTFE with up to 99% less fluorine and minimal impact on key properties including air permeability, conductivity, and substrate flexibility.

The secret to APJeT’s futuristic coating process is their patented plasma chemical-curing technology, APCure™ machinery. APCure™ machinery uses plasma, the fourth state of matter, to instantly cure APJeT’s proprietary GreenFIX™ chemistries at room temperature and pressure. Without the need for heat, line speeds can be increased dramatically and operating costs reduced by 79%.

“We are newcomers to the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Community,” says CEO and President Bentley Park, “and we are still learning the landscape, but we believe our technology can have a tremendous positive impact.” He continues, “In my experience, it is difficult to improve the performance of a product while also reducing costs, and very rare to also reduce the environmental footprint. Our technology provides significant improvement in all these areas. I see no downsides and tremendous potential for us in this industry.”

About APJeT

APJeT Plasma Technologies manufactures novel plasma machinery for surface activation, sterilization, and coating roll-goods. Their coating machinery is accompanied by proprietary chemistry capable of imparting unique functional properties. Their plasma curing process operates at room temperature and pressure, allowing for rapid line speeds and reducing the costs and thermal dangers associated with sintering and thermal-curing processes.
