Consistent automation for storage, generation, and distribution
In addition to wind turbines, Bachmann electronic's new SCADA solution “forsiteSCADA” can also integrate storage systems, photovoltaic parks , and CHP units.

Automation solutions that support operators and developers in meeting the growing challenges of the energy transition will be on display at Bachmann electronic's tradeshow booth. The focus is on integrated solutions for hydrogen technology, storage, energy generation, and distribution.

A key highlight is the newly developed SCADA solution forsiteSCADA. The system covers all types of generation—from storage to solar and wind farms and CHP plants. With four expansion stages from “light” to “premium,” the solution can be tailored precisely to the requirements of different plant sizes. In terms of security, forsiteSCADA scores with a comprehensive access control system, access logging, modular encryption technology, and two-factor authentication.

For the precise control of hybrid energy parks, Bachmann presents the Smart Power Plant Controller (SPPC), which has established itself as a certified plant controller in accordance with VDE-AR-N 4110/4120. The SPPC supports all common IEC and bus protocols as well as their simple configuration and commissioning. Thanks to open and standardized interfaces, systems from a wide range of manufacturers can be integrated regardless of their communication and operating requirements.

Another focus is on the automation of storage systems, for which Bachmann is presenting a comprehensive solution consisting of open architectures, flexible protocols, and a multi-level security concept. The focus is on the GM260, GMP232/x, and GSP274 grid modules as well as the SPPC, which together enable precise power control and secure connection to the grid.

On-site visualization for PV or hybrid systems or the visualization of storage systems or CHP units are areas of application for the new PPC1200 panel PC, which Bachmann is introducing this year. The Eco and Premium versions offer scalable performance with Intel Atom processors, LDDR5 RAM, and onboard mass storage.

In control technology, Bachmann electronic is introducing the third generation of MX200 processor modules, which are equipped with Intel industrial CPUs, VxWorks 7, and TPM 2.0 for secure data processing. The MX208, MX214, MX215, and MX221 modules offer up to 4 GB of onboard memory and operate reliably in a temperature range from -30 to +60 °C.

Model-based control development is the field of application for the M-Target for Simulink 2.75 software solution, which enables seamless integration into MATLAB/Simulink. Engineers can design and simulate control applications based on models and transfer them directly to real-time controllers. The new version offers hot standby redundancy for safety-critical applications and extended bluecom blocks for time-critical networks. In addition, structure-borne noise measurement data from the AIC214 and AIC206 condition monitoring modules can be stored as WAV files, which simplifies diagnostics.

Another innovation focus is AI integration in the SolutionCenter, which covers all phases of the plant life cycle as an integrated engineering platform. Starting with version 2.90, AI agents can be integrated to support developers in code creation – adapted to company-specific guidelines and IEC 61131-3 standards. The agents take technical drawings and UML diagrams into account to generate context-sensitive suggestions and increase code consistency.

The portfolio is rounded off by atvise® connect X 1.0, a multi-protocol-capable software solution for the secure connection of Siemens S7 controllers and Modbus TCP clients. The solution supports native S7 addressing, online browsing, and encrypted data exchange to meet the requirements of the Cyber Resilience Act. With Modbus Secure and real-time diagnostic functions, it offers efficient networking for wind farms, hybrid plants, and other renewable energy projects.
