At the Hydrogen Technology World Expo 2026 in Hamburg, from October 20 to 22, 2026, JUMO will showcase its comprehensive system expertise across the entire hydrogen value chain, thereby underlining its role as a key technology partner to the industry.

Hydrogen is regarded as one of the key energy carriers for the decarbonization of industry, mobility, and energy supply. For the hydrogen economy to realize its full potential, high-precision measurement, control, and automation solutions are indispensable.

The Hydrogen Technology World Expo is one of the world’s largest trade fairs for hydrogen technologies. With more than 1,000 exhibitors and a clear focus on technical innovations, it offers a central platform for exchange between manufacturers, plant engineers, energy companies, and end-users.

JUMO is presenting itself at the exhibition as a provider of holistic solutions. The focus is not on individual components, but on the intelligent integration of sensor technology, automation, data analysis, and engineering. The benefits for operators of hydrogen plants are clear: reduced interface complexity, greater process reliability, shorter project lead times, and optimal scalability for future plants.

“The hydrogen economy requires robust, precise and, at the same time, integrated technologies. It is crucial that sensor technology, automation, and safety functions work together seamlessly. Only in this way can hydrogen plants be operated economically, efficiently, and safely,” explains Rainer Moritz, Industry Manager for Renewable Energies at JUMO.

From ultrapure water treatment and electrolysis through to storage, transport, and use in fuel cells, numerous process parameters must be monitored continuously and reliably. Temperature, pressure, humidity, flow, and energy consumption are crucial factors for efficiency, safety and cost-effectiveness.

This is precisely where JUMO comes into its own with its wide-ranging portfolio. The company’s pressure and temperature sensors have been successfully tested in accordance with CSA ANSI HGV 3.1 for hydrogen refueling systems and thus meet the high requirements for safe use in hydrogen applications. In combination with SIL- and PL-certified solutions from the JUMO Safety Performance brand, this creates a safety concept that delivers impressive results across the entire H₂ value chain.

Energy-intensive processes require precise measurement

Another key focus is energy management. Energy-intensive processes in particular, such as electrolysis, compression or cooling, require precise measurement and intelligent analysis of energy flows. JUMO offers ISO 50001-compliant energy management systems for this purpose, which can be individually tailored to the requirements of hydrogen projects. This helps to lower operating costs, reduce grid loads, and improve the overall performance of plants in the long term.

Among the highlights at the trade fair are the JUMO hydroTRANS H50 humidity and temperature sensor, which was developed specifically for demanding industrial applications, the high-performance JUMO TYA HL303 thyristor controller, and the multifunctional JUMO safetyM TA safety limiter, which is certified to SIL 2/3 and PL c/PL e. These products exemplify how modern hydrogen plants can benefit from precise measurement technology, intelligent control, and functional safety. JUMO’s hydrogen-related portfolio is constantly expanding: the JUMO TAROS H48 Ex will be added to the range.

“The market success of hydrogen does not depend solely on the availability of the energy carrier. Equally important are reliable measurement data, safe processes, and intelligent automation solutions. It is precisely in these areas that we at JUMO make a significant contribution to the successful implementation of hydrogen projects,” emphasizes Moritz.
