Steffenberg, Germany, September 24, 2026 – The industrial manufacturing of components for the hydrogen economy places high demands on precision, reproducibility, and efficiency. At the same time, automated production processes and digital solutions are becoming increasingly important. Roth Composite Machinery will showcase its expertise in the automated processing of fiber-reinforced materials at the Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe, taking place October 20–22, 2026, in Hamburg. Visitors can find the company in Hall B5 at Booth 5B45.

Fiber-reinforced plastics offer attractive properties for applications in hydrogen technology: they combine high strength and stiffness with low weight and enable the production of complex components. However, in composite manufacturing in particular, the key is to reliably match the material’s properties with a precise manufacturing process.

To achieve this, Roth Composite Machinery relies on automation and intelligent process control. The company develops and manufactures custom machines and production systems for processing fiber-reinforced materials. A key focus is on filament winding technology, in which reinforcing fibers are automatically wound onto a mandrel or liner according to defined winding patterns.

Automation not only enables a high degree of repeatability; it also creates the conditions necessary to reliably implement complex winding strategies, accommodate different component geometries, and adhere to defined process parameters. This helps stabilize production processes and lays the groundwork for cost-effective series production.

Quality and Safety Through Automation and Digital Integration

Specialized software for simulating and programming the manufacturing process is another cornerstone of Roth Composite Machinery’s portfolio. This software helps digitally model the winding processes and align the machine control with the requirements of each component, the materials used, and the most efficient machine kinematics. The combination of software, automation, and machine technology enables a comprehensive view of the manufacturing process: from process planning to automated production.

Reproducible fiber deposition plays a central role, particularly for sophisticated composite components used in the hydrogen economy. Fiber angle, fiber distribution, and winding patterns significantly influence a component’s final mechanical properties. Automated manufacturing solutions from Roth Composite Machinery provide the basis for implementing these parameters precisely and consistently.

Focus on Holistic Manufacturing Solutions

At the Hydrogen Technology Expo, the company will demonstrate how mechanical engineering, automation, and software can be combined into comprehensive manufacturing solutions. In direct dialogue with manufacturers and users from the hydrogen industry, the company looks forward to discussing current requirements and future opportunities in industrial composite production. With its exhibition presence in Hamburg, Roth Composite Machinery underscores its commitment to developing efficient, automated, and future-proof production solutions for demanding composite applications. From October 20 to 22, 2026, the company’s experts will be available for discussions in Hall B5, Booth 5B45.
