WTZ Roßlau Showcases LOHC Reactor and AEM Electrolyser at Hydrogen Technology World Expo 2026
As hydrogen continues to gain importance as a key energy carrier for future energy and mobility systems, the demand for efficient, scalable, and application-oriented technologies is steadily increasing. WTZ Roßlau gGmbH addresses these challenges through research, development, and testing activities across the hydrogen value chain and will present selected technological solutions at Hydrogen Technology World Expo 2026 in Hamburg.
Dessau-Roßlau, 8 October 2026.
WTZ Roßlau gGmbH will participate in the Hydrogen Technology World Expo in Hamburg from 20 to 22 October 2026. The international trade fair brings together companies and experts from across the entire hydrogen value chain. Key topics include the production, storage, distribution, and utilization of hydrogen in mobile and stationary applications.
At its exhibition stand, WTZ will present two technological developments: an LOHC reactor for hydrogen storage and release and a modular AEM electrolyser.
The LOHC (Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier) system reversibly binds hydrogen to the liquid organic carrier substance benzyltoluene. This enables hydrogen to be stored and transported under ambient conditions without the need for high-pressure vessels. WTZ is currently testing this technology in various research projects for a wide range of applications.
The exhibited AEM electrolyser is based on Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) technology and was developed by WTZ as a modular 19-inch rack-mounted unit. Multiple modules can be combined to form larger systems. The electrolyser has already been integrated into an Energy Station and has been successfully commissioned and tested.
Together, the two exhibits demonstrate key components of an integrated hydrogen energy chain, ranging from hydrogen production and chemical storage to on-demand supply.
“With our exhibits, we aim to demonstrate how hydrogen technologies can be tested under application-oriented conditions and integrated into functional energy systems. Hydrogen Technology World Expo provides an excellent platform for professional exchange and the initiation of new collaborations,” explains Dr.-Ing. Christian Reiser.
WTZ warmly invites trade visitors to explore the exhibits and engage with its experts to discuss current research topics, practical applications, and future development opportunities.
