Advanced AEL & AEM Electrolysis R&D

Fraunhofer IFAM Hall: B6 Stand: 6M40J

Fraunhofer IFAM Dresden develops and qualifies materials and components for alkaline water electrolysis (AEL) and anion exchange membrane electrolysis (AEMEL). Our work covers PGM-free catalyst materials, porous metallic electrodes and PTLs, coating processes, separators, material combinations and cell concepts.

Components are characterized electrochemically and tested under realistic operating conditions from laboratory cells to short stacks and industrially relevant component sizes.

We support customers in durability studies, degradation analysis, gas crossover evaluation, test protocol development and the scale-up of component manufacturing routes.
