Advanced Amine Technology CO2 Capture plant
Pentair’s AAT plants feature:
- Flue Gas Scrubbing: SO₂ is removed via soda ash dosing, with pH-controlled monitoring.
- Absorber Column: Flue gas flows counter-current to the MEA solution, allowing chemical absorption of CO₂.
- NOxFlash Column: Optimizes yield by removing contaminants from the rich MEA solution – without the need for costly chemicals.
- Stripper column: Releases CO₂ from the MEA solution through thermal regeneration.
- CO₂ Compression & Drying: CO₂ is compressed to 15 - 18 bar(g), dried to -60°C dew point, and filtered to remove odor and acetaldehyde.
- Final Purification & Liquefaction: Non-condensable gases are purged, CO₂ is condensed and distilled before stored in insulated tanks at -27° to -21°C.
- Automated Operation: PLC-controlled systems ensure reliable, 24/7 performance with minimal manual intervention.
- Efficient Installation: Pre-wired and factory-tested skids reduce on-site commissioning time.
- MEA Solvent Management: A patented purification system allows use of high-O₂ flue gas without degradation or corrosion – no inhibitors required.
The result is ultra-pure CO₂ (>99.99% v/v), suitable for food and beverage applications, with significant operational savings compared to traditional generation methods.
