CarbonBridge is developing Germany's first operational CO₂ export terminal, positioning itself as a provider of integrated logistics solutions for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). Located at the Ambrian Energy site in the Port of Bremen, the project is designed to serve as a central hub for the transport, interim storage, and export of captured carbon dioxide to permanent offshore storage facilities.

CarbonBridge primarily serves carbon-intensive industries such as the cement, lime, and waste management sectors, helping them reduce emissions in line with European climate targets. The company manages key logistics processes, from rail and maritime receipt of CO₂ to interim storage, quality control, and loading onto seagoing vessels. In the future, the terminal is also planned to be connected to a national CO₂ pipeline network.

A key feature of the project is its scalability and the use of Bremen's existing port and rail infrastructure. Planned facilities include CO₂ storage capacity of up to 55,000 m³, a dedicated jetty, and a high-capacity export terminal. This approach enables early market deployment without having to wait for the development of a nationwide CO₂ pipeline network.
