CO₂ Desorber / Stripper Towers
WTS manufactures large stainless steel desorber towers, also known as stripper columns or solvent regenerators, for post-combustion carbon capture facilities. Within the regeneration section of a capture plant, the desorber releases absorbed CO₂ from the process solvent, preparing the recovered gas for subsequent conditioning, compression, transport, utilisation or storage.
Our fabrication scope includes tower shells, stainless steel wetted surfaces, internal support structures, modular sections, access platforms, structural supports and customised process interfaces. Equipment is manufactured for elevated-temperature service and demanding chemical environments, with material selection and construction tailored to specified process conditions. For large-scale CCUS projects, modular fabrication supports transportation and field erection planning while maintaining the quality benefits of controlled workshop manufacturing.
Leveraging direct access to port infrastructure, WTS can fabricate transport-optimised tower sections and assemblies suitable for Ro-Ro and conventional marine transportation, enabling efficient delivery of large process equipment to international project sites. WTS can manufacture individual tower sections or larger assemblies according to project dimensions, interface requirements and site constraints.
Typical applications include carbon capture installations at power generation, waste-to-energy, cement, petrochemical and other industrial facilities. WTS works with EPC contractors, technology licensors and project developers to deliver large process columns aligned with established process designs and project execution requirements, with a focus on fabrication quality, structural integrity, corrosion resistance and long-term serviceability.
