Our reciprocating compressors (API 618, API 11P / ISO 13631) and integrally geared centrifugal compressors (API 617 and 672) are designed according to customer’s requirements and are typically used in refineries, the chemical and petrochemical industries, for natural gas storage, technical gas transportation, power supply and power plants.

Reciprocating compressors

Our reciprocating compressors are characterized by high quality and individuality, long operating life and high wear resistance based on around 160 years of experience in reciprocating compressor engineering. We manufacture compressors with horizontal and vertical design.

Centrifugal compressors

The integrally geared centrifugal compressors from BORSIG ZM Compression GmbH stand for highest quality and reliability. The BORSIG ZM centrifugal compressor series includes multi-stage integrally geared centrifugal compressors for process gases according to API 617 and 672.

Hydrogen compressors - Green hydrogen – the energy of the future.

Key technologies for the compression of hydrogen have been part of the product portfolio of BORSIG ZM Compression GmbH for many years. Based on decades of experience, BORSIG offers machines adapted to customer requirements in various scales and designs.

Hydrogen will play a significant role in the energy mix of the future. The transition to a green hydrogen industry is currently being driven forward at full speed. Before hydrogen can be used to the desired extent, technical challenges must be solved.

Hydrogen applications of BZM compressors:

1. Transport of H2: Compression of green hydrogen with compressors from BORSIG ZM Compression GmbH to supply regional and international pipelines
2. Storage of H2: Use of proven Boxer series for storage of green hydrogen. BORSIG ZM Compression GmbH as partner and supplier for one of the first cavern storage facilities currently under construction
3. Refuelling of heavy-duty vehicles with H2: Future use of MegaLyseurPlus (currently in test phase). Innovative technical solution for oil-free compression of hydrogen up to a pressure of 450 bar. Application for vehicle fleets, for example buses, trucks or trains
4. Process gas compressor for H2 and synthesis gas (power-to-X, methanation): Suitable technologies for a wide range of process gases containing hydrogen
