Custom Solutions
Standard cells cover most electrolysis R&D, but not all of it. When a project needs a chamber count, port placement, flow-field geometry, or scale that doesn't exist off the shelf, Redox Flow builds it as a custom project rather than asking researchers to compromise their design.
Past electrolysis-specific work spans multi-chamber bipolar membrane electrolysis cells built for university research groups, supporting up to eight individual flows in a single system; current collectors machined with unique flow-field patterns; gaskets cut to custom shapes and dimensions for non-standard cell geometries; and temperature-controlled systems built into larger setups. Some custom builds go on to become standard products - the X-Cell's reference-electrode-port variant, now part of the regular catalog, started as a one-off custom request. On the larger end, Redox Flow has worked with SWAN-H on customized reactor systems for renewable ammonia production, showing the same design approach scales from bench-top screening to pilot-scale electrolysis hardware.
The process runs in three steps. First, a call or email to walk through the research needs in detail. Second, a design and proposal phase, refined with the customer until the specification is right. Third, delivery and integration, with worldwide shipping and ongoing technical support once the system is running.
Let's find the right solution for your hydrogen journey - and drive hydrogen R&D forward together.
