Exceptional Catalyst Support (ENSACO® 350G) In the catalyst layer, ENSACO® 350G utilizes its extremely high specific surface area and optimized pore structure to provide outstanding catalyst activity and low corrosion. This efficiency allows manufacturers to reduce their dosage of expensive precious metals (like platinum). Furthermore, at the end of the fuel cell's life, the ENSACO® carbon can be cleanly burned off to easily recover and recycle those precious catalysts.
Optimized Gas Diffusion & Microporous Layers (ENSACO® 250G & 260G) Within the GDL and MPL, ENSACO® conductive carbon blacks help precisely control the layer's porosity and hydrophobicity (water repellency) for the optimized transport of hydrogen gases and liquids. Notably, ENSACO® 250G is proven to deliver the overall best fuel cell performance in dry conditions.
Enhanced Polymer-Based Bipolar Plates While graphites (like TIMREX® or SU-NERGY™) act as the main functional additive in polymer bipolar plates, ENSACO® 250G serves as a powerful specialty "booster" additive. When added in very small quantities to a highly loaded graphite compound, it significantly boosts both in-plane and through-plane conductivity—reducing electrical resistivity by up to 70% while simultaneously increasing the plate's bending strength by approximately 10%. This allows manufacturers to reach their target conductivity at lower overall carbon loadings.
