EPM 893 low temperature, RGD resistant EPM O-rings

The Energy Transition requires new sources of clean energy like hydrogen and technologies able to reduce CO2 emissions from traditional industries, uncovering new technical challenges for sealing materials. Applications like hydrogen storage or refueling stations require materials with low temperature capabilities at -40°C and beyond, combined with RGD resistance. CCUS market also requires sealing solutions with similar low temperature and RGD resistance capabilities.

To address these challenges, Greene Tweed developed EPM 893, a new RGD-resistant EP compound able to withstand temperatures as low as -67°C / -89°F.

Extensive testing with sCO2 and H2 according to various standards like ISO 23936-2, Nace TM092 or ISO 17268 demonstrated superior performance of EPM 893 with CO2 and H2.
