Optimizing Catalyst Supports (FC-NERGY® Carbon Blacks) In both fuel cells and electrolyzers, the catalyst layer is where the crucial chemical conversion of hydrogen takes place. The FC-NERGY® CC101 and CC102 conductive carbon blacks are engineered with an exceptionally high specific surface area (up to 760 m²/g) and optimized mesoporosity. This unique structure provides outstanding catalyst activity and platinum dispersion, which allows manufacturers to significantly reduce their dosage of expensive precious metals while extending the life of the catalyst.

High-Performance Bipolar Plates (FC-NERGY® Surface-Modified Graphites) Polymer-based bipolar plates must efficiently distribute hydrogen fuel gas, conduct electrical current, and resist high corrosion. The FC-NERGY® BG series (including grades like BG101, BG103, BG202, and BG203) consists of proprietary surface-modified graphites engineered specifically for superior bipolar plate processing and performance. They deliver exceptional electrical and thermal conductivity, setting the industry standard with extremely low resistivity values (reaching less than 10 mOhm.cm² bulk resistance at an 80% loading level) without compromising the plate's mechanical stability.

Fine-Tuning Gas Diffusion and Microporous Layers (FC-NERGY® Dispersions) To manage the delicate balance of gas and water transport within the cell, Imerys offers FC-NERGY® water-based carbon dispersions.
