Hydrogen storage in caverns
Salt caverns are artificially created cavities in natural underground salt deposits. They are well suited for storing large quantities of hydrogen. The DLR Institute of Networked Energy Systems researches their technical design, dynamic operation, integration into gas infrastructure and potential hydrogen contamination.
