The JUMO safetyM TA is a multifunctional, fault-tolerant safety limiter approved in accordance with IEC 61508 and ISO 13849, meeting the requirements up to SIL 2/SIL 3 and PL c/PL e, respectively. The device is used for limit value monitoring and can be flexibly configured for a wide range of Safety Instrumented Functions (SIFs). These include voting functions, 2oo2 configurations, and safety temperature limiters and monitors in accordance with DIN EN 14597.

A key feature is the integrated 1oo2D voting function, which enables operation even in a degraded plant condition. This helps reduce unwanted shutdowns and increase plant availability. At the same time, sudden machine stoppages and the resulting production losses due to rejected products can be avoided.

The safety limiter is equipped with a universal input for measuring pressure, flow, temperature, and level. Limit value monitoring can be configured for both minimum and maximum thresholds. Configuration is carried out via a USB interface using the corresponding setup software. Operation is performed through a backlit dot-matrix LCD with plain-text display. In addition, the device holds approvals such as EAC and cULus.
