Hydrogen electrolysis creates a particular sealing challenge: alongside hydrogen, highly reactive oxygen must also be handled safely. IDT's LE-Safe technology addresses both media with an adhesive-free gasket design.

LE-Safe gaskets combine metallic carriers with graphite layers using an adhesive-free process. This makes the technology particularly suitable for demanding operating conditions involving hydrogen and oxygen.

The LE-Safe range includes kammprofile and corrugated metal gasket designs. Depending on the design, they provide high tightness, excellent adaptability and suitability for high pressure limits and extreme operating conditions, including cryogenic, oxygen and hydrogen service. BAM test reports are available for the configurations specified by IDT.

LE-Safe gaskets are designed for electrolyser peripheral systems as well as flange connections in hydrogen transport and storage – providing a sealing concept that takes both hydrogen and oxygen requirements into account.
