PPH2 Material
PPH2 is a specially alloyed carbon-based steel designed specifically for high-pressure hydrogen applications.
Thanks to its optimized mechanical properties and microstructure, PPH2 enables the production of thinner-walled components without compromising strength. This reduces component weight, lowers material consumption, and contributes to improved system efficiency and sustainability. The material also offers excellent formability, weldability, and corrosion protection through a zinc-nickel coating, making it suitable for industrial manufacturing processes.
PPH2 has been extensively tested and certified according to international hydrogen standards, including DIN EN ISO 11114 and ANSI/CSA CHMC 1-2014, confirming its suitability for demanding hydrogen environments.
The material is used to manufacture high-pressure tubes, manifolds, and other fluid-carrying components for hydrogen systems operating at pressures of up to 700 bar. It also serves as the foundation of Poppe + Potthoff's TOPAQ modular hydrogen supply system, supporting safe, efficient, and application-specific hydrogen distribution in both mobile and stationary fuel cell and hydrogen engine applications.
