SydroPOWER Drive™ MZ140-P4H — 140 kW Bus Fuel Cell Engine
Bus and coach programmes require more propulsion power than lighter passenger vehicles, alongside a fuel cell architecture that can be integrated into the vehicle platform. The SydroPOWER Drive™ MZ140-P4H addresses this need with 140 kW nominal engine output.
The liquid-cooled engine combines the fuel cell stack with supporting systems for vehicle integration. Specified dimensions are 882 × 678 × 643 mm, with a stated −30°C cold-start capability and maximum operating temperature of 95°C. These parameters provide an early basis for packaging and thermal-system discussions.
The integrated engine route can reduce the engineering scope required around a bare stack, enabling OEM teams to concentrate on the complete bus or coach architecture. Relevant work includes matching the engine to the battery, traction demand, cooling arrangement and operating duty, whether for public transport or commercial passenger services.
