Test Stands for Hydrogen Components

POPPE + POTTHOFF GmbH Hall: B7 Stand: 7F40

P+P test stands are engineered to validate the safety, durability, and performance of hydrogen components used in demanding applications. They support research and development, product qualification, and continuous quality monitoring throughout the manufacturing process.

The modular test systems can be individually configured to meet customer-specific requirements. Depending on the application, they perform gas leak testing at pressures of up to 1,050 bar, pressure cycling tests up to 2,000 bar at 10 Hz, as well as hydrostatic and burst pressure testing with pressure ramps of up to 3,000 bar.

The system displayed consists of two modules and can be equipped with an optional climate chamber to reproduce realistic operating conditions. Test specimens can be exposed to ambient and media temperatures ranging from -40 °C to +160 °C while undergoing pressure testing. Integrated media temperature control ensures stable and repeatable test conditions.

Each pressure generation unit is individually designed to match the customer's components and testing requirements. A typical configuration includes one 70 bar (1,000 psi) pressure intensifier, two 275 bar (4,000 psi) units, and one 414 bar (6,000 psi) unit. Aerospace-grade hydraulic oil is commonly used as the test medium for hydrostatic testing.

The flexible design allows the system to be expanded with additional testing capabilities, providing a scalable solution for comprehensive qualification and lifetime testing of hydrogen components.
