Technology Centre Mongstad (TCM) provides industrial-scale testing, technology qualification, process simulation, advisory services and operational training for post-combustion CO₂ capture projects.

TCM’s facilities include an industrial amine plant with a design capacity of approximately 80,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year, the Site for Emerging Technologies for membranes, sorbents and other next-generation capture technologies, and a new approximately 1 tCO₂/day solvent-testing and CO₂ product-qualification platform planned for campaigns from 2027. 1_TCM_Factsheet_EN

Clients can work with TCM through:

• CESAR1 Open Benchmarking campaigns providing shared, independent industrial data for sectors including power, waste-to-energy, refining, cement, steel, aluminum, BECCS and SMR.

TCM has tested 17 technologies across 28 campaigns and accumulated more than 70,000 hours of test operation. Its analytical capabilities include solvent degradation, emissions monitoring, aerosol measurement, nitrosamines and nitramines, and CO₂ product-quality and impurity measurement.
