Dickow NKX: Thermal Oil Pump with Patented Cooling and Degassing Technology

Dickow Pumpen GmbH & Co. KG Hall: B6 Stand: 6M48

Reliable sealing performance is one of the most critical requirements in thermal oil systems. High fluid temperatures, gas formation, and demanding operating conditions can significantly affect pump performance and seal reliability. The Dickow NKX was specifically developed to address these challenges.

The NKX combines a mechanical seal with a patented fully automatic cooling and degassing system that operates without the need for external support systems. The technology ensures a continuous supply of cooled and de-aerated thermal oil to the seal area, helping maintain optimal operating conditions.

How the Dickow NKX Works

During operation, specially designed grooves on the shaft sleeve transport thermal oil into an integrated gas separator. Within the separator, gas and liquid phases are automatically separated.

The de-aerated thermal oil then passes through a cooling section where heat is removed from both the seal chamber and bearing area. An axial fan mounted on the shaft further enhances cooling performance and helps maintain low bearing temperatures.

The conditioned thermal oil continuously supplies the mechanical seal and circulates within the system. Meanwhile, separated gases are returned to the pump casing through a conveying thread and reintroduced into the main flow.

The result is a permanently operating closed-loop system that supports reliable and stable pump performance.

Key Benefits of the Dickow NKX

  1. Patented cooling and degassing technology
  2. Continuous supply of de-aerated thermal oil to the mechanical seal
  3. Enhanced protection against dry running conditions
  4. Reduced thermal stress on seals and bearings
  5. Fully automatic operation without external cooling or barrier systems
  6. Increased operational reliability in thermal fluid and hot oil applications
