High-Speed Turbo Compressor for a Hydreogen-Powered Formula Student Race Car
High performance, compact dimensions and efficient air supply are essential requirements for fuel cell systems in demanding mobility applications.
In this video, Hydriven Hydrogen System Engineer Tijn Minks explains how Celeroton TurboCell’s high-speed electrically driven turbo compressor is integrated into the team’s hydrogen-powered Formula Student race car. The compressor provides the pressure and airflow required by the fuel cell system while operating at extremely high rotational speeds.
The application demonstrates how Celeroton TurboCell’s turbo compressor technology can support compact and high-performance fuel cell systems where space, weight and efficiency are critical factors.
By combining Celeroton TurboCell’s expertise in high-speed turbocompressor technology with Hydriven’s development of a hydrogen-powered race car, the project showcases an innovative application of fuel cell technology in motorsport.
