The Canada-Germany Energy Partnership is a bilateral innitiative by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) – established in March 2021 through a Memorandum of Understanding between the German and the Canadian government.
It supports the bilateral cooperation of the two countries on clean tech innovation and energy security (including CCUS, hydrogen, and LNG), critical minerals, energy efficiency, renewables integration, and grid development. It does this by facilitating high-level exchanges between the two governments as well as between businesses and the governments. Its secretariat is represented in Berlin and Montreal.
