REMA Hydrogen is a Swiss cleantech company developing next-generation on-site hydrogen production systems that enable industries to produce green hydrogen directly where it is consumed. By eliminating the need for transportation and centralized supply chains, REMA helps industrial users significantly reduce hydrogen costs, improve supply security, and accelerate their decarbonization efforts.
Founded as an EPFL spin-off, REMA combines cutting-edge electrochemical engineering with a practical industrial approach to deliver compact, modular, and highly efficient alkaline exchange membrane (AEM) electrolyzers. Our proprietary stack architecture improves efficiency, durability, and scalability while reducing the levelized cost of hydrogen production. The technology is designed to make green hydrogen economically viable for small and medium-sized industrial users that consume between a few kilograms and several hundred kilograms of hydrogen per day.
At the exhibition, REMA will showcase the Be1, a compact 2.5 kW hydrogen generator capable of producing up to 1 kg of high-purity hydrogen per day directly from tap water and electricity. The Be1 enables companies to validate on-site hydrogen production with minimal investment before scaling to larger industrial systems. REMA is also developing the We1 product line, offering modular industrial electrolyzers ranging from 20 to 200 kg of hydrogen production per day.
REMA's solutions address applications across metal processing, heat treatment, chemicals, laboratories, renewable energy storage, and other industrial sectors seeking a reliable and cost-effective source of green hydrogen. Our vision is simple: make hydrogen as accessible on-site as electricity or water, enabling a more resilient and sustainable industrial future.
