Hiden Analytical designs, develops and manufactures quadrupole mass spectrometry systems for advanced scientific research and specialist process monitoring. Our instrumentation is engineered to deliver high-precision, real-time analysis of gases and vapours across concentration ranges extending from ppb to 100%, supporting rigorous measurement in laboratory, pilot-scale and industrial environments. Our knowledge and instruments encompass residual gas analysis, plasma diagnostics through direct measurement of ions and ion energies, and SIMS-based platforms for UHV surface science, etch end point detection, automated surface analysis, depth profiling and compositional investigation. Hiden Analytical also provide microreactor and microfurnace systems for catalyst research, enabling temperature-programmed methodologies including TPO, TPD, TPR and TPRx, alongside integrated solutions for thermal analysis and reaction studies. Across our product range, we apply advanced mass spectrometric techniques with purpose-designed sampling interfaces to generate sensitive, stable and high-resolution data for species identification, quantitative composition measurement, transient analysis and process characterisation. Drawing on more than 40 years of quadrupole mass spectrometer design, development and manufacture, Hiden Analytical combine established engineering expertise with a bespoke, client-interactive system to address highly specific analytical requirements. Our customer-focused philosophy emphasises partnership, ensuring we tailor our instrumentation to your requirement. Our aim is to provide continuous product improvement and enhance product performance. Supporting researchers and technical specialists in fields including catalysis, plasma science, electrochemistry, vacuum processing, surface engineering, nanotechnology and dissolved species analysis, Hiden Analytical positions ourselves as a specialist provider of application-focused mass spectrometric instrumentation for demanding scientific and industrial R&D challenges. Our broader instrumentation portfolio spans gas analysis, thin films and surface engineering, cluster analysis, and dissolved gas analysis in liquids, reflecting a sustained focus on versatile quadrupole-based platforms configured for diverse compounds, pressure regimes and experimental workflows. This combination of technical depth and configurability supports reproducible, application-specific measurement in complex environments where analytical sensitivity is critical.
