HYCCO is a French company based in Toulouse, dedicated to making hydrogen technologies lighter, more efficient, durable and scalable. Founded in 2019, HYCCO develops and industrializes patented carbon-fibre composite bipolar plates designed for demanding electrochemical applications.
HYCCO’s technology addresses a critical component of fuel cell and electrochemical systems. Its composite bipolar plates offer a combination of low weight, compactness, durability, chemical resistance and high performance, providing a significant alternative to conventional metallic solutions. With plate web thicknesses down to 170 µm and up to 50% weight reduction compared with metallic alternatives, HYCCO’s technology enables more compact and lightweight systems while supporting higher power densities.
HYCCO develops solutions for a broad range of electrochemical systems, including low-temperature and high-temperature PEM fuel cells, PEM electrolyzers and redox-flow batteries. Its applications span UAVs and drones, aerospace, heavy-duty mobility, hydrogen production and long-duration energy storage.
Beyond bipolar plate technology, HYCCO acts as an industrial partner throughout the development cycle. The company provides custom design and flow-field engineering, prototyping and pilot production, industrial scale-up support, technical assistance and supply-chain coordination.
