KAMAT builds high-pressure plunger pumps, pump units and the matching valve technology for applications in which pressure has to be exact and available around the clock. The company is family-owned, was founded in 1974, manufactures at its own works in Witten, Germany, and is represented by trained service partners in 54 countries.
Hydrogen and carbon capture projects meet KAMAT at three points. Component qualification: units for hydrostatic and cyclic pressure testing of tanks, valves, fittings and refuelling equipment, with stepless speed control over a 1:10 range so that pressure follows the test curve without surges. Fuels and carriers: injection and feed systems for ammonia, methanol and ethanol, with multiple sealing systems, leakage return and sensor monitoring, forged and uncoated stainless steel pump heads, and a test bench certified for ATEX Zone 1 that holds constant 1,000 bar across its full range. Plant supply: high-pressure water and process duties from the same modular platform, configurable to API 674.
That platform covers drive powers from 15 kW to 3,000 kW, pressures up to 4,000 bar and flow rates up to 10,000 l/min, in triplex and quintuplex design. Gearboxes exceed 90 percent efficiency, and a single frequency converter adjusts flow between 10 and 100 percent of nominal output.
Availability decides the total cost of a high-pressure system. Plungers and packings are changed without dismantling pump head or gearbox, suction and discharge valves up to 1,000 bar are individually removable and interchangeable, and a high share of common parts across the range keeps spare part stock small.
