mütec Instruments GmbH is a German manufacturer of measurement and safety technology for industrial process applications. Headquartered in Seevetal near Hamburg, the company develops and produces signal conditioning, high-voltage measurement and monitoring solutions for demanding environments in the chemical, energy and process industries. Among them are SIL2-certified transmitters according to IEC 61508.
For the hydrogen market, mütec offers HydraSafe, a modular Cell Voltage Monitoring (CVM) system for electrolyzer stacks (AEL, PEM), fuel cells and chlor-alkali applications. HydraSafe captures every single cell voltage with 250 µV resolution and a 100 ms sampling rate. This gives operators and stack developers a precise, synchronous picture of stack health, from R&D test benches to industrial-scale plants. One OBSERVER unit handles up to 768 cells. Larger stacks and multi-stack systems are scaled by adding further units, without rewiring the PLC. Measurement data is provided via Modbus TCP, PROFINET, OPC UA or ProfiSafe for direct integration into existing automation systems. Fiber-optic links bridge distances of up to 2 km between stack and control room.
At Hydrogen Technology World Expo, mütec presents the complete HydraSafe architecture (CORE measurement modules, OBSERVER and GATE fiber converter) together with the HVT 300/400 high-voltage transmitters for stack voltage, current and ground-fault monitoring. At stand 7J48, visitors can discuss specific stack configurations, cell counts and integration scenarios directly with mütec's application engineers.
