Pajarito Powder, LLC, based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - develops and manufactures advanced electrocatalysts for fuel cells and electrolyzers, built on proprietary technology and intellectual property developed internally and licensed from Los Alamos National Laboratory. The company manufactures high-purity iridium oxide (IrOx) catalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in PEM water electrolyzers, designed for high surface area, fine crystallite size, and long-term durability and high performing cathode materials for both PEM and AEM. At the core of its fuel cell offering is a family of high-surface-area mesoporous carbon materials, branded Engineered Catalyst Supports™ (ECS), produced through the company's proprietary VariPore™ process. ECS materials feature tunable, interconnected pore structures engineered to resist carbon corrosion, suppress PGM particle growth, and improve platinum dispersion and adhesion relative to conventional carbon supports. Pajarito's supported platinum and platinum-alloy catalysts are built on ECS to deliver improved activity, durability, and mass-transport performance in PEM fuel cell cathode applications.
