SeeO2 Energy Inc. develops modular, reversible solid-oxide cell (rSOC) systems for industrial decarbonization, with a focus on the intersection of carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), hydrogen, and renewable energy integration. The company’s technology enables industrial operators to convert captured carbon dioxide and water into useful energy and chemical products, creating pathways to utilize CO₂ while supporting the transition toward lower-carbon industrial processes.
At the core of SeeO2 Energy’s platform is high-temperature electrochemical conversion, including co-electrolysis of CO₂ and steam to produce syngas. In electrolyzer mode, the system can use renewable electricity to simultaneously convert captured CO₂ and water into hydrogen and carbon monoxide, producing a syngas stream that can serve as a feedstock for industrial processes and the production of synthetic fuels, including eSAF. This integration of CO₂ utilization and hydrogen production provides a pathway for connecting captured carbon with the growing hydrogen and e-fuels economy.
The reversible nature of the rSOC platform provides additional operational flexibility. In fuel cell mode, the system can generate electricity and useful heat, while in electrolyzer mode it can convert electricity into chemical energy. This bidirectional capability can support the integration of variable renewable power, enable energy storage, and provide flexibility for industrial energy systems.
