Storelectric is a technology and project developer of large-scale energy storage solutions, utilising underground cavern storage to support today's renewable power systems and enable future energy system flexibility. Its long-duration energy storage projects are designed to address intermittency, enhance grid stability, and strengthen energy security.
At the heart of Storelectric's offering is its large-scale hydrogen storage technology. Using proven salt cavern storage technology, the company's patented technology can store hydrogen at GWh to TWh scale. This solves one of the hydrogen economy's hardest problems: storing hydrogen safely, cheaply, and at the scale needed to replace existing gas plants and networks.
Storelectric also holds a granted patent for a hydrogen production technology that uses the heat of compression to drive electrolysis, increasing efficiency and lowering costs. Storelectric can integrate this production directly alongside its storage solutions.
Storelectric's site, Tees Energy Park in North East England, is set to deliver large-scale hydrogen storage.
