Toyota has decided to use a liquid hydrogen storage solution provided by Fabrum

Fabrum is a New Zealand-based company and an agreement between this company and Toyota was recently created. This agreement focuses on Fabrum supplying Toyota with its liquid hydrogen storage technology.

The company’s cleverly designed solution has the capability of supporting end-to-end hydrogen production, as well as refueling systems. So far, the system has proved effective where it has been in use, such as with companies who specialise in aviation, heavy transport and industry.

The plan for this new partnership will involve Fabrum’s Mahapatra joining a New Zealand delegation, which is made up of top business leaders, who are joining the country’s Prime Minister, Rt Hon Christopher Luxon, in Japan.

This new partnership will be Fabrum’s second collaboration with a Japanese company, as they have previously worked with Obayashi Corporation. This project focused on delivering a dual-pressure hydrogen refueling technology for an Auckland-based refueling station initiative.

CEO of Fabrum, Dr Ojas Mahapatra, commented, “This order is significant as it’s our first from Toyota, which is at the forefront of new technologies and innovations for its future mobility projects – and it signals the beginning of our relationship.”

The New Zealand PM added, “This collaboration is a testament to the potential of New Zealand’s decarbonisation technologies in combating climate change and the important contribution Japanese companies can make to our economy.”
