by | Jul 13, 2023

Asahi Kasei has joined the Japan Hydrogen Forum (JH2F), a forum which was set up to support the decarbonization targets of USA-based federal, state and local governments. The company will advance its operations as a member of the Hydrogen Production Committee – one of five subcommittees of JH2F.

The JH2F was established by 15 companies affiliated with Japan with hydrogen-related operations in the USA. Through five sectoral subcommittees, consisting of hydrogen production, land transportation, port decarbonization, power generation and finance, the JH2F works to support decarbonization within the USA.

The forum is supported by the Japanese government and affiliated governmental organizations including the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC) and Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI).

At present, Asahi Kasei is working to advance its hydrogen-related business with a focus on the alkaline water electrolysis system for hydrogen production.

By joining the Japan Hydrogen Forum, Asahi Kasei seeks to contribute to the establishment of a hydrogen society through collaborations with governmental and non-governmental organizations and corporations related to the hydrogen value chain. The company will also build its business in the USA for large-scale alkaline water electrolysis systems.
