Dr.-Ing. Bernd Pitschak has been Chairman of the Board of the German Hydrogen Association (DWV) since April 1. After studying mechanical engineering and completing his doctorate at Ruhr University Bochum, he began his professional career in energy technology. From 2002 to 2023, he served as Managing Director of Hydrogenics GmbH in Herten, which has been part of Accelera by Cummins since 2019. In this role, he was primarily responsible for expanding the company's electrolysis and fuel cell business in Germany and Europe. In 2023, he took on the position of Senior Director Government Relations at Accelera by Cummins, representing the company in political bodies and associations at the local, national, and European level.
