Elmar Friedrich is the market director for Germany and France at Copenhagen Offshore Partners. He holds a PhD in economics from the Chair for management of renewable energies at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), Switzerland. He started his career in consulting and joined the offshore wind division of E.ON in 2017. During his career at E.ON and later RWE, Elmar led successful bids and joint ventures in Europe and the US and supported the market entry in Asia. At Copenhagen Offshore Partners - the exclusive development partner for Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners - Elmar together with his team develops complex offshore projects, including Offshore Wind, H2 pipelines, cross-country interconnectors, and energy islands. He is married, has 3 children and lives close to Hamburg.
