Dr. Adekola Lawal is a Chartered Chemical Engineer and certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) with 20 years of experience specializing in decarbonization and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS). Widely recognized as a subject matter expert, he brings deep technical and project leadership expertise across the CCUS value chain.
His capabilities span carbon capture technologies, CO₂ pipeline and ship transportation system design, CO₂ flow assurance, basic reservoir engineering, and the specialist design of CO2 blowdown, depressurization, and venting systems. He has successfully led and supported projects across all phases of development, from early-stage research and conceptual studies to front-end engineering, detailed design, and operations. His recent work includes the FEED projects of CO2 transportation and storage infrastructure for the Aramis development.
Dr. Lawal is the author of over 20 peer-reviewed publications on carbon capture and storage, reflecting his ongoing commitment to advancing the field and supporting the transition to a low-carbon future.
