Alessia Fortunati
Postdoctoral Researcher,
Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia
Alessia Fortunati received her M.Sc. degree in Chemical Sciences, cum laude, from the University of Florence, Italy, in 2018. She earned her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, cum laude, from Politecnico di Torino in 2023, where her research focused on electrochemical CO₂ conversion and the development of advanced catalytic materials. Since February 2024, she has been a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), working on the development of scalable electrochemical systems for CO₂ valorization into value-added chemicals. Her research interests include electrocatalysis, membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs), large-area CO₂ electrolyzers, and the scale-up of electrochemical technologies for industrial decarbonization. She is also co-founder of the deep-tech startup project ECO-RED, focused on developing industrial electrochemical solutions for carbon capture and utilization (CCU).
