Alex is a hands-on Senior Upstream Manager and leader with expertise in petroleum engineering, joint venture management and asset integrity performance. Through strategic foresight, drive, and being a recognised facilitator for transformational organisational change, Alex’s career has seen him work for nearly 30 years in various top-tier roles within the global Shell Group. In his last role as Development Manager Malaysia/Philippines, he has led over 100 professionals, spread across four locations, delivering integrated technical assurance and project reviews at key delivery milestones. These projects included aspects of CCS for major offshore developments of contaminated gas in Malaysia. As a leader, innovator and advocate for meaningful change, Alex is at the forefront, regardless of any situation. He has applied his key management and leadership skills in various global environments and has navigated complex and challenging issues into the best possible outcomes. Recognised for his ability to find the weak spots within an organisation, Alex has an excellent overview of technical understanding paired with solid business development skills in executing a plethora of client projects. Alex’s innate ability to build high-performance teams, including his strategically selected technical management staff in his previous role, has served as a growth catalyst and infused productivity into the workplace. Alex is currently an Associate Consultant for Molyneux Advisors, where his passion for global energy transition and his drive to see new alliances thrive provide immense growth value for his clients. He is also - together with Belinda Perriman - promoting the concept of Upstream Hydrogen which was developed as a business idea on the Cambridge University Carbon 13 venture accelerator programme in 2023.
