Børre Jacobsen has over 34 years of experience from the energy sector. In his more than 30 years with Shell, Børre held several domestic and international commercial, business development and managerial roles including gas transportation, global liquified gas, upstream and midstream field and project development. As part of the Norske Shell leadership team, he had responsibilities for corporate affairs and later led Shell's downstream business in Norway.
In 2020, Børre took the role as the first Managing Director of Northern Lights JV (a carbon transport and storage company), with the task to set the company up from scratch. During his tenure Northern Lights grew to become a respected global leader in CCS and set the company up for commercial success with landing the first two commercial cross border CO2 storage and injection agreements.
Børre remains committed to develop the CCS business and since departing from Northern Lights in 2024 he has acted as a business consultant. His primary role today is with Yinson Production where he leads this company's entry into the CCS business as business manager for the Havstjerne CO2 storage license.
Børre has a finance degree from Texas A&M University, he is married and lives in Stavanger, Norway with his wife and a dog. He has three adult children that have all left the home base.
