Dr. Jan Patrick Melchior serves as Technical Application Manager for Electrocatalysts at Heraeus Precious Metals, where he is responsible for customer project management and the introduction of electrocatalyst technologies into industrial applications. In this role, he works closely with customers to enable technology adoption and application specific optimization. He holds an MSc in Physics and a PhD in Chemistry from the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart, with a research focus on solid state electrolytes for electrochemical applications. Prior to joining Heraeus, Dr. Melchior gained international research experience at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and worked as a Fuel Cell Development Engineer in the automotive industry, focusing on stack integration, operating conditions, and catalyst coated membrane (CCM) design.
