Jonas Loetscher is the Managing Director of Airfix Carbon AG, a Swiss company specializing in BECCS (Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage) projects. His focus is on project finance and project development within the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland). Jonas has over a decade of experience scaling large-scale environmental infrastructure, physical-to-digital systems, and complex decarbonization projects. His expertise spans the BECCS value chain with a particular focus on structured financial modelling, CO2 aggregation clusters and stakeholder engagement. Jonas currently also serves as member of the United Nations Development Programme's (UNDP) expert pool for decarbonisation. Prior to joining Airfix, Jonas worked at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), where he led large-scale digital transformation projects in Mauritania and Kenya. Jonas holds an MBA from the University of Bradford with a focus on innovation, an MA in International Relations from the Graduate Institute for Development Studies in Geneva, and an MA in Conflict Management from the University of Kent.
