Juan Tomasini is the Head of Hydrogen at ANCAP, working on projects and initiatives in mobility applications, offshore hydrogen, e-fuels and natural hydrogen among others. With a career at ANCAP spanning since 2007, Juan has a deep background in oil and gas, contributing to reservoir engineering, offshore bidding rounds, and the coordination of complex offshore operations. His involvement in hydrogen efforts began in 2018, notably with Uruguay’s first green hydrogen project for mobility. Juan holds a Chemical Engineering degree (University of the Republic of Uruguay), a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering (Heriot-Watt University), and completed an MBA in Energy Transition at the University of Groningen in 2025.
