North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany’s most industrialized and most populous state, has set itself the ambitious goal of becoming Europe’s first climate-neutral industrial region. NRW.Energy4Climate is the state agency for energy and climate protection in North Rhine-Westphalia and supports local authorities and companies in their decarbonisation efforts. Maximilian Feldes serves as acting head of the hydrogen Office. Prior to this, he spent five years working, amongst other roles, as acting managing director at a renewable energy association, where he was responsible for policy work. His focus was on combining renewable energy with the production of green hydrogen.
