Dr. Michael Bender is Global R&D Head Fuel Cells at Umicore. He brings extensive international experience in research and development, product development, industrialization, and technology management across the fields of fuel cells, automotive catalysts, and advanced functional materials. Prior to his current role, he held several senior leadership positions within Umicore in Germany and China, where he led global teams, drove strategic technology projects, and supported the development and industrial implementation of new products and processes. Dr. Bender holds a PhD in Materials Science and combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership experience in international and intercultural environments.
